Heating Lamp

A heating lamp is a versatile and effective heat source that uses infrared radiation to generate warmth, primarily for livestock, poultry, and reptile enclosures. In poultry farming, heating lamps are most commonly used during the brooding stage to create a warm environment for newly hatched chicks, ensuring they stay healthy, active, and free from cold stress.

These lamps typically consist of a high-wattage infrared bulb housed in a reflective aluminum or ceramic fixture, which directs the heat downward. Available in both red (infrared) and clear (white light) versions, heating lamps provide both warmth and illumination, though red lamps are often preferred in poultry settings to reduce stress and prevent pecking.

Heating lamps are appreciated for their ease of use, quick setup, and affordability, making them suitable for both small backyard flocks and commercial operations. They can be hung or mounted at adjustable heights to control the intensity of the heat depending on the chicks’ age and behavior.
